Maine ice fishing for salmon and lake trout

Maine's ice fishing season for salmon and trout begins on January 1 and continues through March 31. Landlocked salmon,Happy angler with a fat landlocked salmon - favorite of Maine anglers lake trout, white perch, and chain pickerel hit live bait or a variety of jigged lures, producing enjoyable wintertime action on the frozen lakes. Take your pick of ice fishing either 16,000-acre East Grand Lake or 17,000-acre Spednic Lake. 

The Village Camps has 6 rental cabins on the shore of East Grand Lake - each is winterized and equipped with both thermostatically controlled heat and wood stoves. After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, you can jump onto your snowmobile  and head up the lake to fish or we will transport you on ours.Lance stops by to check on how the fish are biting. We also have rental ice shacks equipped with wood stoves at different locations throughout the lake. You can cook a lunch over the woodstove, heat coffee, and fish from inside the warmth of the shack while watching your other tip-ups nearby. The Village Camps sells a good selection of live bait.
